The Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, went on August 3 to the municipality of Cazenga for another day of work.
This time, the objective was to check the quality of the water supply service to the populations of that circumscription, after several visits made and recommendations lowered so that the populations leave the dependency of receiving water through cisterns under the program of free water supply. Note that at this time of fighting the pandemic of COVID-19, water plays a key role is preponderant for its mitigation and combat.
At KM9B, Minister João Baptista Borges had the opportunity to talk with the citizens, who informed the Minister that most areas already receive water from EPAL’s network, while there are others that need improvement and the Minister directed EPAL to install another pipeline so that water can reach more families even if it is through the restriction service. João Baptista Borges also went to visit the Charity Center that gathers more than one hundred and thirty orphan children for the auscultation of the water supply status, an orphanage there named “Santa Isabel”, where he had the same exercise.
It should be noted that, besides other responsible people, the Minister was flanked by the PCA of EPAL company, Fernando Cunha, to whom he left clear and precise guidelines in order to quickly improve the water supply service in that charity institution.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister had a meeting with the residents’ committee, having heard from them their biggest concerns and where he also lowered guidelines in place for their regularization still this year. João Baptista Borges ended the meeting promising to return to the site still this year to verify the results left as recommendations.
